Do you love peanut butter sandwiches and granola bars on bike rides? Do you skip rest stops because you need to get to the finish first? Well, then this ride is not for you.
Do any of these words describe you: pleasure rider, gastronome, epicure, gourmand, connoisseur or just plain foodie? Yes? Then you’ve come to the right place. How about a beautiful bike ride ?
On Saturday, October 2nd, come along for the Santa Fe Gourmet Classic bike ride with gourmet food at each rest stop. The non-competitive, 70-mile bike ride takes you through Santa Fe and out into the surrounding areas, winding around meadows with beautiful views of the Sangre de Cristo and Sandia Mountains.
Enjoy a light breakfast to start your ride. Then pedal your way to several rest stops featuring light creative treats, giving you plenty of energy to make it to the next stop. A gourmet Southwest lunch will fuel the second half of your journey. And after the ride plan on taking a shower and joining your fellow bike riders to conclude the day and toast your epicurean accomplishment with an optional dinner in downtown Santa Fe.
Please note that the Classic will be limited to the first 200 respondents, so sign up today for a unique Santa Fe experience!
Also note that the menu and the location of the rest stops is subject to slight modifications.
As an added treat you can head to Albuquerque on Sunday to watch the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. If you are from out of town then plan on booking rooms early as they tend to fill up fast!
